SQID ®

 (Stormwater Quality Improvement Device)

The SQID® line of products has been developed as a first line of defence against litter and sediment from reaching our fragile waterways. The SQID ®, (Stormwater Quality Improvement Device), is a relatively inexpensive guard against pollutants and other debris being washed to our oceans via our ecologically fragile rivers and streams.  The long-term care of our waterways begins here and now.

        If we could reduce the amount of oxygen depleting vegetation debris and other litter from reaching our waterways by 10 percent, then the ecosystem would be much healthier with the risk of blue green algae blooming in our waterways being reduced.

        The SQID ® line of products was designed a "To provide an economical, hydraulically efficient, easy to install and simple to maintain device, which aids in improving stormwater quality by the removal of litter and sediment pollutants, which have historically been transported to our sensitive aquatic ecosystems".

        Authorities are starting to act on improving our waterways by ensuring that stormwater pollutants are captured at the source. A simple, inexpensive solution had to be found. The SQID ® system was developed with this in mind.

        Australian designed and manufactured using UV stable polyethylene and stainless steel, these products are designed to last, and are made of 100 percent recyclable material.

                                                Qualities of the SQID ® include:

1.  Cleaner and more efficient waterways with the removal of sedimentation and litter over 2 mm particle size.

2.  Reduces scouring of drainage pipes extending the life of the drainage system. 

3.  Cheap and efficient. 

4.  Can be retrofitted to existing structures.

5.  Cleaning is relatively easy.

6.  The product has a good life expectancy, minimising replacement costs, and is 100 percent recyclable.

7.  The product is UV stable. 

8.  Maintains a dry profile contributing to the reduction of water breeding insects (Dry Cell).

9.  Can be labelled if required.

10. Has no moving parts.

11. Can be adapted to different applications and variations.
